A note from the founder

Hi there,

Before I built Everything Journal, the best tool I ever had was… a book. A diary. It was simple. In one place, I could capture ideas, set goals, plan chores, reflect on my day, even paste in pictures.

But when I switched to apps, that simplicity disappeared. Notes lived in one app, tasks in another, files and photos in a third. Work was separate from personal life. Collaboration required yet another tool. Instead of clarity, I got chaos.

I realized something: a tool should make life simpler, not more complex.

So I designed Everything Journal as the digital version of that perfect diary — one place for the things you want to keep, plan and act on; personal on your own and collaborative when life involves other people.

A diary let a sketch sit beside a checklist, and a photo taped next to a memory. That is the part I was most determined to keep. It is why nothing here is trapped inside anything else — group things however you like, change your mind later, and nothing you gathered is lost when the grouping goes.

That's why it's called Everything Journal. Because it really is about everything in one place. If you've ever felt the frustration of juggling too many tools, I think you'll feel at home here.

One more thing worth saying plainly. Everything Journal is a product of Spikey Tech Inc., the agency I run, and it is funded by that work rather than by outside investors — so there is nobody upstream waiting on growth. That is a deliberate choice: it lets me take the time to get this right and make decisions around what is useful to the people who trust it, rather than growth at any cost. And for now, if you write to us, I'm the one who replies.
